We’re a start-up, so the ideal candidate understands we have a lot to figure out and is excited to help us. We’re looking for someone who can roll their sleeves up with a growth mindset. You’ll be our dedicated designer who will help build the design foundations of our product.
We’re looking for someone who understands empathy. Our company deals with people who have lost loved ones, so deep empathy is important. You should be an excellent communicator, a fierce customer advocate, and an extremely strong eye for details.
This role is remote with a preference for US-based/Bay Area-based candidates who can be hybrid.
Your role:
You will be our Product Designer at Ribbon in charge of our product’s UX/UI
You’ll work closely with the founding team (CEO and CTO) and senior engineers
You’ll lead UX/UI work for the company, designing different features and products that ease the burden of losing a loved one
You’ll design new features and products from the ground up, working “end-to-end” from user-personas to UI wireframes and high-fidelity mockups
Contribute to expanding and maintaining our design system
Drive our development process, including daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
Wear lots of hats! This is a start-up and this is not a cookie-cutter role. You’ll be asked and expected to contribute to the business in ways that might be outside the scope of a traditional product designer!
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a product designer
Deep expertise with Figma and other prototyping tools
Experience working in a start-up or agile environment
Eagerness and willingness to roll up sleeves and do “the hard work” - it’s a startup so there are always lots of hats to wear
Experience shipping scalable user-first designs used by paying consumers or businesses
Bonus points for:
Experience working within a startup environment, especially fintech-related
Experience being a solo product designer for a team
Passion for fintech and wealthtech
Having a growth mindset
Experience with user insight tools, like Hotjar and Google analytics
