Overview
As the Principal / Director of Product Management for Platform & Data, you will own the overarching platform and data product strategy—ensuring Lily AI’s infrastructure, data pipelines, ML capabilities, and AI/ML roadmap are unified, scalable, and innovative. This leader will define how we harness data to deliver new customer-facing features, integrate brand/enterprise knowledge, and power advanced generative/agentic use cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a clear, ambitious roadmap that addresses both immediate platform needs and future innovations.
- Lead teams to explore the latest technologies and their applications.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align platform initiatives with overall company strategy and product direction.
- Define how data is collected, stored, and surfaced for all Lily AI products—ensuring the platform can handle robust data models, brand knowledge ingestion, and new data types (e.g., multimodal).
- Establish governance, security, and privacy standards, guiding best practices to support advanced, enterprise-grade use cases.
- Partner with engineering and ML teams to ensure the platform’s architecture supports high-volume generative content, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, and next-gen inference pipelines.
- Evaluate and implement technologies that support real-time or near-real-time data processing for a rapidly growing user base.
- Act as the bridge between Data, Engineering, ML, user-facing PMs, and other stakeholder teams.
- Align technical teams and business stakeholders around platform priorities, ensuring timely delivery and seamless user experiences.
- Identify and champion opportunities to incorporate novel AI/ML solutions that unlock new sources of customer value (e.g., brand knowledge retrieval, advanced personalization).
- Own KPIs related to platform uptime, latency, and performance.
- Ensure the platform can scale cost-effectively without sacrificing quality, enabling stable rollout of new features to an expanding global customer base.
- Champion a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
Qualifications

- Experience: 7+ years of product management experience with a strong focus on data platforms, ML infrastructure, or enterprise SaaS technology. Prior experience in a technical role is highly recommended.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex platform initiatives and manage large, multi-million dollar revenue roadmaps.
- Technical Depth: Hands-on, advanced understanding of AI systems (embeddings, RAGs, multimodal data infrastructure, etc) and an understanding of large scale technologies, cloud infrastructure, ML/AI frameworks, and data governance best practices.
- Strategic Thinker: Capable of translating high-level business goals into a coherent platform roadmap that supports both near-term deliverables and long-term innovation.
- Collaboration: Skilled at building strong partnerships with engineering, data science, executive leaders, and external technology vendors/partners.
- Results Oriented: Track record of measuring platform performance, driving adoption of advanced capabilities, and delivering measurable improvements in reliability, scalability, or cost efficiency.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or commensurate technical background).

Compensation is competitive and will be determined based on a combination of experience, seniority, internal, external equity and location. For some context: this position in the US would pay between $180,000-200,000 USD per year, depending on experience and seniority. In other regions, compensation will be adjusted for local currency and local market rates. Lily AI compensation policy is calculated with a focus on equity and where employees can thrive.
