We are an award-winning, global team (Forbes 30 Under 30, TechInAsia's Best Startup) with offices in London, New York, Hong Kong, and beyond. We're growing fast, we value transparency, and we genuinely enjoy building the infrastructure that powers modern commerce. If you're ready to solve complex problems at scale, we'd love to have you join us.
Who We're Looking For
Easyship's data platform sits at the heart of how we run the business — powering everything from shipping analytics to the insights our customers and internal teams rely on every day. As we scale, we need someone who can build the pipelines, warehouses, and data services that keep that platform fast, reliable, and ready for what's next.
We're looking for a Data Engineer who will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining robust data pipelines, data warehouses, and data services within our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. You bring a proactive mindset and a passion for data quality, automation, and enabling rapid development of data-driven solutions for our SaaS and eCommerce shipping platform.
This role also has a strong AI-augmented angle — you're curious about leveraging AI and modern data stack tools to build an insights layer on top of our data, driving smarter automation and business impact across the business.
This is a full-time, onsite role based in our Bangalore office (5 days WFO), reporting to the Head of Data. As you'll be working closely with teams in the UK, this role follows UK working hours.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines using Cloud Composer (Airflow), Pub/Sub, and Cloud Functions
- Optimize and manage our data warehouse in BigQuery, ensuring data integrity and performance
- Implement complex data transformations and modeling using Dataform (DBT)
- Contribute to the development of infrastructure for rapidly building data services and APIs
- Implement and maintain data quality checks and monitoring processes
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in data pipelines and queries
- Support machine learning workflows by enabling data pipelines for feature engineering, model training, and deployment
- Build and support the development of an AI-driven insights layer on top of our data platform, staying on top of emerging technologies that accelerate analytics and automation
- Collaborate closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions
You Might Be a Good Fit If…
- You have 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, ideally in SaaS, logistics, or e-commerce
- You have strong proficiency in SQL
- You have extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically BigQuery, Cloud Composer (Airflow), Dataform (DBT), Pub/Sub, and Cloud Functions
- You have hands-on experience with data pipeline development and ETL processes
- You have experience building data services/API infrastructure
- You communicate clearly and collaborate well with analysts, data scientists, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Nice to have: Experience with MLOps workflows, including setting up pipelines for feature engineering, model training, deployment, and monitoring using cloud-based tools (e.g., Vertex AI, Kubeflow, or MLflow)
If you're excited about this role but don't meet every requirement, we'd still love to hear from you.
