Job Title: QA Lead
Reports to: Head of Software Engineering
Location: Bangalore, India
Key Relationships: Quality Assurance, Security, Engineering, Product

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced QA Lead to spearhead our Quality Assurance strategy, drive test automation, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. This role requires a technical leader with deep domain knowledge, expertise in test automation, and strong leadership abilities to mentor the QA team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.

You will define testing strategies, lead architectural discussions, and drive security initiatives, ensuring that our software meets the highest standards of reliability, security, and performance.

You will be responsible for creating and maintaining key QA metrics.

What you’ll do:

People:

• Mentor and coach junior and mid-level QA engineers, fostering a culture of growth and innovation.
• Conduct regular training sessions and workshops on advanced testing methodologies and tools.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and leadership teams to ensure quality is embedded in the development lifecycle.
• Ensure QA engineers are proficient in coding, automation, and test-driven development (TDD) methodologies.

Processes:

• Define and implement the overall QA strategy, aligning with business goals.
• Leverage deep business domain knowledge to design test strategies that align with business priorities.
• Lead the creation of comprehensive test plans, risk assessments, and test case documentation.
• Oversee performance testing efforts to optimize software efficiency under various workloads.

Technology:

• Lead the design and development of test automation frameworks and strategies to enhance software quality.
• Stay up to date with the latest testing tools, frameworks, and industry trends to enhance QA capabilities.
• Work closely with DevOps to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Who you are:

• 12+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Hands-on experience in both manual and automated tests.
• Previous experience in leading QA teams for enterprise or SaaS products.
• Strong communication skills, capable of articulating QA strategies and risks to executive stakeholders.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop QA engineers at different levels.
• Experience in leading QA architecture discussions and contributing to project planning.
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (engineering, DevOps, product management).
• Knowledge of Functional and Non-functional Testing

Good to have:

• Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for automation.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD) and integrating automated tests.
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter) and techniques.
