Position Overview
As an Illustrator at Burq, you’ll create visual assets that enhance our marketing, product, and branding efforts. From digital illustrations for user interfaces, to custom graphics for marketing and social media content, your work will help communicate our value proposition. We’re looking for someone who can blend creativity with a strong understanding of design principles to create visuals that resonate with our users and audience.
Responsibilities
- Product Illustrations: Create clear, engaging, and on-brand illustrations for the SaaS platform's user interface (UI), product tours, feature explanations, and onboarding screens.
- Marketing Collateral: Design custom illustrations for blog posts, whitepapers, infographics, case studies, and email campaigns to visually communicate complex ideas.
- Design and Iterate Quickly: As a fast-moving startup, we look for designers who can create high-quality designs quickly, both in initial designs and follow-up iterations.
- Establish a Brand & Visual Identity, and Implement it Consistently: Help maintain consistency in visual style across all product illustrations and marketing materials, ensuring that illustrations align with our overall brand guidelines.
- Creative Collaboration: Work based on written and verbal design briefs from the Marketing, Product Management, and Product Design teams to conceptualize and execute visual content that supports strategic initiatives.
- Adaptation & Iteration: Respond to feedback and refine illustrations to ensure they meet the needs of different stakeholders while staying aligned with the brand’s visual identity.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience of 3+ years as an illustrator, graphic designer, or visual artist, preferably 2+ years in a B2B or SaaS environment
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing a range of illustration styles, with examples of digital work in both UI/UX and marketing design.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, or similar).
- Strong understanding of design principles, including composition, color theory, and typography.
- Ability to create vector-based and scalable artwork.
- Familiarity with SaaS products and their design considerations is a plus.
Bonus Points
Understanding of UX/UI principles and experience working closely with product design teams.
Background in marketing or familiarity with B2B SaaS marketing strategies.
- Experience with motion graphics or animation.
